Laura Blumenthal is the Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Brentford and Isleworth.
She is a campaigner and is constantly peeved by residents not being listened to.
Laura's family hails from Chiswick and she works in the City of London. She spent a decade as an elected councillor and led the launch of the first ever Anti Poverty strategy for Wokingham Borough Council. Laura also worked in Westminster for the former Conservative MP for Brentford and Isleworth.
Her values centre around freedom, helping people fulfil their potential and personal responsibility (be it for yourself, your family or wider community). Laura's grandfather was a refugee so she knows the danger of bad ideas and the fragility of peace.
Covid is in the rear view mirror but too many people feel stuck. Laura wants to help get things moving by encouraging the prosperity we need, being positive about the local area and its heritage and blasting through nonsense to get the services, good communication and infrastructure people deserve.
Knocking on doors in Brentford, Hounslow, Isleworth, Osterley and Whitton people repeatedly tell Laura they feel as if they're not being listened to. She wants to change this by ensuring infrastructure first when it comes to new developments, more family homes, better transport links, cuts to crime and more pride in the local area. Laura wants to use her experience in building partnerships between public services, charities, businesses and residents groups to pool insights and expertise to get to where we need to go. If you want success, the days of organisations not working together are long behind us.
Outside of campaigning, Laura enjoys the arts, relaxing in green spaces and baking the world's best chocolate brownies. She is also trying her hand at gardening but not showing too much promise.
