Laura Blumenthal spent the day talking to shop owners on Whitton High Street and they alerted her to the horrendous flytip that exists behind both sides of the high street.
She says:
I'm appalled that such a huge volume of flytip is just left behind the shops for retail workers and the people who live above the stores to put up with. It's disgusting and not the high standards that local people expect and deserve. I've written to Richmond Borough Council to request they dispose of it or come up with a plan to deal with the mess. A fire has already been started here so we need to get it sorted. It's a safety and environmental health risk.
