After ten years as a councillor, Laura Blumenthal decided not to seek re-election so she can focus her efforts on campaigning for the people of Brentford and Isleworth.
I'm proud of my time on Wokingham Borough Council, having led the creation of its first anti-poverty strategy, introducing a parental leave policy for councillors and getting support to build its solar farm. When I commit to doing something I'm 100% in, so it's only fair I step down so I can give as much time and energy to the people of Brentford and Isleworth. I still work full-time but will now have more capacity to help local people.
