Young People in Politics

In January 2016 I started up http://www.youngpeopleinpolitics.org.uk in a bid to demystify the election process and encourage more young people to get involved in politics. There seem to be so many organisation encouraging young people to vote but very little being done to support them to stand for election.

The twitter account is pushing 900 followers: @Younginpolitics.

The website has links to organisations and information that promotes and explains how young people can become more engaged. A blog and interview page also seeks to help answer questions people may have. The tweets are varied and have included focusing on young disabled councillors and parents with young children and explaining the support they can get. The previous blog post on this website is the latest article on the young in politics website and gives a flavour of the difficult issues young people come up against and may not know how to deal with. I especially enjoy researching what other young councillors are doing and promoting it. Please check it out and follow!
